St Mary Magdalene Church is part of the Church of England in the Diocese of Southwark. A church has been on the present site for over 1000 years! Woolwich is in S.E. London, and is a historic town of approximately 25,000 people. Our church is named after one of Jesus’ closest followers, Mary Magdalene. Central to our mission is: ‘Faith, Hope and Love’. We consider ourselves to be in the centre of Anglican tradition and try to reach out to and serve all the peoples of Woolwich.
The Sunday Service is at 10.00am every week. You are very welcome to join us on any Sunday. Children are very welcome to attend our services, and if they are between the ages of 4-11 years they can attend the Sunday School as well. On the third Sunday of each month, we also have a Family Service, which is suitable for children and people of all ages.
Services are taken by the Ministry Team, which is led by the Rector. Music is a mixture of both traditional and modern styles, and worship is a mixture of both formal and informal approaches. At the end of worship, we usually have a time for light refreshments, which gives people an opportunity to talk to one another and get to know each other. Both children and adults are welcome to attend St Mary’s Church. Children should be accompanied by a responsilble adult at all times.
